The Fourth Scout Troop in Al Malikiyah

The Fourth Scout Troop in Al-Malikiyah was established on December 15, 1996, through the efforts of a dedicated group of Syriac community members.

Following a one-month training course, the leadership formed the scouting teams, brass band, and drum corps, assigning each leader the responsibility of managing their respective group. By early 1999, the troop had grown to 780 members, both active and inactive, according to the troop’s records. The musical ensemble alone consisted of 80 members, including brass and drum players.

The troop's leadership attended the foundational meetings of the Syriac World Scouting Commission, during which troop deans were selected as commissioners, and His Grace Bishop Matta Roham was appointed General Commissioner in 1998. Additionally, the troop participated in the celebration of the Silver Jubilee of the enthronement of His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas in Damascus in 2005.

The troop engaged in various activities, including:
- **Recreational activities**: excursions, parties, and competitions
- **Training activities**: scouting lessons, camps, marches, and meetings with other troops
- **Religious participation**: organizing churches, holiday processions, holding carnivals with other denominations on New Year’s, participating in religious gatherings, and welcoming clergy
- **National participation**: joining national parades, welcoming state officials, and taking part in national and cultural festivals.
