The brass band of Mor Georges was established in 2010, making its first appearance during the Christmas and New Year celebrations in the same year with a total of 70 musicians. The band ceased its activities in March 2011 due to the crisis in our country, but resumed in 2014, with its first performance coinciding with the visit of His Holiness Patriarch Mor Aphrem II to the Church of Um al-Zinar in the revitalized area of Old Homs.
Upon its return, the number of musicians decreased to 30 due to the repercussions of the war; however, the band continued its diverse activities. Since 2014, the band has participated in numerous religious, national, social, and cultural events, with the membership rising to 70 musicians.
The band stands out for the diversity of its members' ages, ranging from 13 to 27 years. In a new step towards developing activities, the band initiated the establishment of a Scout section with the Rovers in 2022, and will continue to establish the rest of the Scout groups gradually.
