The Firouza Scout Troop was officially established on April 21, 1958.
The troop has actively participated in marches, camps, and small celebrations, as well as formed a theater and folk dance group. It has also contributed to various volunteer efforts that benefit and serve the village, the church, and its community.
The troop was led by great leaders, most notably its founder, Bishara Al-Qassis, who had the honor of meeting Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the global scouting movement.
Over the years, the troop has experienced various phases of strength, weakness, prosperity, and decline. However, it has remained resilient thanks to the dedication of its passionate scout members. The Firouza Scout Troop, one of the oldest in the city of Homs, played a significant role in reviving religious and official occasions, both in times of joy and sorrow. The troop once numbered around 80 members and continues to grow with new training sessions.
